Hilton recently delivered 2 new road-rail vehicles to the tram of Karlsruhe in Germany. A catenary maintenance vehicle and a rail cleaning vehicle have been taken in operation. Both vehicles were built on a MAN TGM 4x2 Euro 6 chassis including an hydrostatic driven lorry rail drive system.
The catenary vehicle has a large cabin with workshop in GRP technology and a telescopic platform with a max. cage load of 500kg and a max. horizontal outreach of 10m. The rail lorry has been equipped with a magnetic brake for additional brake support on slopes >6%.
The rail cleaning vehicle is based on the famous Schörling technology including a 6,5m³ dirt container and a 2000l water tank in stainless steel. To clean the rail grooves there are high pressure nozzles which are integrated into the suction shoes. This allows contactless and highly efficient cleaning of the groove. Besides the vehicle has a central suction arm on top of the container.
With these 2 vehicles, Karlsruhe is perfectly equipped for all kinds of track and catenary maintenance. Please contact our sales department for further information. We would like to thank the tram of Karlsruhe for the excellent cooperation in this project.
