4x New Vehicles for Strukton Sweden

Categories: News, Vehicles

Just before Christmas, four new road-rail catenary maintenance vehicles were completed for Strukton Sweden. The first vehicle has already been delivered, with the remaining units set to follow in the coming weeks. These vehicles establish a new standard for the next generation of innovative catenary maintenance vehicles.

The vehicles are built on Scania 6x4 chassis, featuring a crew cabin and a 450hp engine. The rail drive system is powered by two hydrostatically driven bogies, allowing a maximum speed of 70 km/h on track. The hydrostatic brake system, equipped with ABS and ASR, ensures optimal traction and maximum braking power. The superstructure features a telescopic Hilton 140T platform paired with a Hilton HFD79 wire positioner. The platform provides a 500 kg basket load capacity, a working height of 14.2 m, and a maximum outreach of 8 m. A distinctive feature is the rear driver cabin, mounted on the slewing column of the platform. With this additional cabin, the vehicle is capable of being operated as a bi-directional vehicle, allowing it to drive at 70 km/h in both directions.

We would like to thank Strukton for this highly valued order and for their trust in Hilton's road-rail technology.
