In the end of 2011, Hilton Kommunal delivered a new catenary maintenance vehicle to the city tram of Freiburg in Germany. The telescopic boom is made out of 3 segments with a maximum working height of 11.100mm. The working platform is designed for a maximum cage load of 450kg and can be slewed 360° continous. On the working platform a hydraulic wire tensioner is mounted for catenary work. The rail drive system is a hydrostatic driven trolley with a gauge of 1.000mm based on the renowned Hilton Schörling technology. Behind the original Mercedes Benz crewcabin, there is a equipment locker with a pantograph mounted on top. High quality aluminium roller shutters are installed on all equipment lockers. The complete platform is isolated according to DIN VDE 0682-742 which is the highest isolation standard for catenary vehicles.
