Hilton has delivered a new MEWP to ViP Potsdam who operates and maintains the tram network in Potsdam (Germany). The vehicle was built on a Mercedes Benz Axor 1833 4x2 chassis with a maximum width of 2300mm. The rail drive system is a hydrostatic driven lorry which allows the vehicle to drive through an extremely narrow curve radius of 15m on track. The max. speed on track is 30 km/h and the rail drive system is equipped with the state of the art Hilton braking system including ABS and ASR function. The working platform offers a huge working range of up to 19m working height and 12m outreach on road. On track the platform has a working range of 13,6m and a maximum horizontal outreach of 8,6m without the use of stabilizers. The vehicle has been delivered including all required certifications and is isolated for work under live catenary (1000V AC and 1500V DC) according the DIN VDE 0682-742 standard. Even working in rain is no problem due to the high level of isolation. We’d like to thank ViP for the excellent cooperation and wish them all the best with the their new vehicle.
